Course Overview

The course is from Makara Beach to the hill summit coming into Johnsonville, retiring afterwards to the Posties Whistle.

Logistics

Car parking in Branscombe Street, Johnsonville.
A group will leave from Branscombe Street at 2:15 to ride to the start together.
In the past, it has often been pretty cold waiting around, so let’s all be ready at Makara Beach for a 3:00 start.
Starting order on a seeded basis at 15 second start intervals.
The finish line is the hill summit, just before coming down into Branscombe Street.
We will keep our own times.
Make sure you give organiser your time at the end of the ride.

Safety & Rules

We participate at our own risk, obeying all road rules.
No crossing the marked white centre line.
Overtaking must be limited to no more than two bikes wide at all times (never three bikes wide).
The overtaking rider must give way to rider(s) ahead at all times.
No drafting.
Do not wait/watch at the finish line but go over the brow of the hill and turn left into Branscombe Street.
